The twins went to the Dr. last week. They are 4 months already!! Here are the stats:

Nicholas:

13 pounds (25th percentile)
25 3/4 inches

Al in all they are both doing very good. They got 3 shots again this time. Nicholas developed a fever that night and had me up about 5 times. Poor baby! Vanessa didn't seem to have any reaction.

Sarah also saw the Dr. becuase she said her ear hurt. I am never sure if she is just looking for attention or not, so since we were going there anyway, I had him look at it. He said her ears were clear, thank goodness!

Sarah "graduates" from preschool this coming Tuesday. It is at a park near us. Should be very cute! They have been practising their songs. Sarah also has started swim lessons. She seems to like it. She also is going camping this summer with Nanny (aunt Donna) and Uncle Randy. So her summer is booking up. She starts kindergarten August 26th. I will take that day off work because I want to drop her off and pick her up from school. There also an orientation for kindergarten parents. And the twins have their 6 month check-up that day. It will be a busy day!

Another Random Post

So it has been quite a while since I posted. Not much has changed. I went back to work on May 18th. So far it is going pretty good. I miss my kids terribly, but I am not the "Stay At Home Mom." type, I need the adult interaction. Which I think is very strange considering I have loved children ever since I can remember. I even wanted to be a kindergarten teacher. And now being home with my own kids is very stressful for me. Oh well, some women are meant to be home and some just are not. I love my kids very much and will do anything for them of course.

Now on to the children. Sarah is doing very well in preschool. The year is pretty much over, but they have a ton of stuff planned for the summer. Her preschool graduation is June 30th. It is at a local park, so it should be a lot of fun. She is so excited! She calls it her "gradulation."

Sarah went to Atascadero with Tim's parents last weekend. They stayed and Bob and Leah's. Sarah said she had a good time. I heard she went to the biys baseball game and was the "honorary cheerleader" for the team. So cute! I wish I had it on video. She told Leah she wants to go back to swim and see the horses. I told Leah anytime you want to take her this summer, just let me know!

Nicholas and Vanessa are doing good too. I cannot beleive how big Nicholas is! He has got to be about 14 pounds by now. And he is really long! He is in 3-6 mos clothes and will probably be out of them within the next month or so. I think he has the Thiele height. He is sleeping through the night (or has for the last 3 days). He smiles, coos, and just started to laugh.

Vanessa is just a little peanut. She is probably about 9 or 10 pounds. She has been sleeping through the night for about a week or so. I usually go in and get her at 6:45 when we leave for work. And she is usually just laying in her crib smiling away. She is smiling, cooing, laughing and talking. She does things quicker than Nicholas.

My parents have decided what the three kids will be doing when they grow up:
Sarah will be the actress (she is so drama!)
Vanessa will be the doctor (she does things ahead of Nicholas)
Nicholas will be the garbage truck driver (he is just slower, but hey, they make good money!)

I thought that was so true!

The next appoitment for the twins is at the end of the month. I will post stats then. I will also post pics soon too. I have some from Ted and Heather's wedding that I need to post.

Bathtime

Here are some pictures of bathtime. They both seem to like their baths. Nicholas loves the whole thing. Being washed, dried and lotioned up. Vanessa likes being washed, dried, but once you start the lotion, forget it! She cries every time! Weird! But we seem to have a good routine going. This is my last week of being off so we will see if we can get into a new routine next week.

9 1/2 week check-up

Well actually it is their 2 month but I was a little late getting them in. So here are the stats:

Nicholas-10 lbs. 12 ozs (25 percentile), 23 inches long (50 percentile), 15 1/2 inches head circumference

Vanessa-8 lbs. 13 ozs (10 percentile), 22 inches (50 percentile), 15 1/2 inches head circumference

Both got 2 shots and this other oral medication. Nicholas seems to be in a little pain from one of the shots so I gave him Tylenol. Vanessa seems okay. They are doing really well though. I am starting to sleep train them. The Dr. says don't let them sleep longer than 2 hours at a time during the day, hoping this will hekp them sleep a little more at night. I go back to work in 2 weeks, so hopefully we can get this started so it will help me.

This weekend is Ted and Heather's wedding! We are all so excited! The twins will be with their father overnight becuase the wedding is so late. The day will start at 10:30 when I drop the kids off! Sarah is getting excited to walk down the aisle. I will get lots of pictures and upload them next week. Well that is all for now.

This morning I took the kids to the park. It is such a nice day here I thught we should get out a little. Plus my time at home is coming to an end, so I should make the best of it. I go back to work May 18th.

Sarah apperantly has 2 new pets. She has two dogs, Joseph and Alea. She says they are like Marley in "Marley and Me." So this morning when we went to the park we had to bring the dogs with us. She tied them to the stroller and when they had to go potty she let them off and even picked up after them! And when we got to the park she threw the bags in the trash. She has such an imagination!

Time sure does fly! The twins are 6 weeks old and they are doing great, except for the sleeping part. I guess they aren't doing terrible, but during the day they can go about 4 hours without being fed. But at night they go about 2-3 hours! UGH! At least for the weekend my aunt Donna(Sarah's Nanny) and uncle Randy will be here. They had twins about 24 years ago, so they know what it is like. So while they are here they said they would do the night shift for me. I am so excited because I am so tired!

Last night Vanessa woke up at 3:15 am. I got her changed and made a bottle, then we went in to my room, turned on VH1, and guess what was on? New Kids on the Block! It was a show all about them! I was in heaven! Then as I was feeding Vanessa she gave me her first real smile! It was so big and so cute! Just melted my heart!

Sarah is doing good. We had a re-check appt. at the dr. yesterday for her ear infection. She is all clear. Then we went over to Uncle Ted's (Unc/Best Friend) and Heather Boss's (Heath) house. Sarah loves seeing her Best Friend! They played marbles and she helped him water his flowers. Heather and I sat inside and talked and fed babies. Aunt Heather is getting very good at feeding the babies. Maybe next time I can get her to change a diaper!

1 Month Physical

On Thursday I took the twins in for their check-up. They are now 5 weeks. Everything looks great! They are gaining weight and following the curve. Vanessa is 6 pounds 13 ounces and Nicholas is 8 pounds 4 ounces. They are eating very well. They both take 4 ounces of formula every 3 to 4 hours. Everything else on them looks good.

Sarah continues to love school. Everyday she asks if she is going to school. Her class is hatching chicks. Last week she said the chicks chirped in the shell and in 4 days they will be here. SO fun!

4 Weeks!

Nicholas and Vanessa are 4 weeks old today! I cannot beleive how the time has flown by! They are both doing quite well. They went for weight checks last week and they are doing fabulous. Vanessa was 5 pounds 3 ounces and she is now 5 pounds 13 ounces! Nicholas was 6 pounds 7 ounces and he is now 7 pounds! The dr. is happy with their progress. They go back on April 2nd for their 4 week physical and the second round of the Hepatitus B shot. That is all from here.

Well we went to the dr. yesterday for the weight check. After 7 days they still are not what they should be. Vanessa is 5 pounds 3 1/2 ozs. That is 2 1/2 ozs up in 7 days. Nicholas is 6 pounds 7 1/2 ozs. That is 6 1/2 ozs up in 7 days. The dr. wants them to gain a half oz at the min a day. But a whole oz a day would be better. He said to feed them more. I was feeding them 2 ozs every 3 hours. He said to do 3 ozs every 2 hours. Well we tried that yesterday and they were so full they did not want to eat. So I am feeding them every 3 hours, whatever they will take. At midnight Nicholas took 4 ozs! So he was good for 4 hours. I do not wake them anymore at night. They seem to wake on their own now. We go back next Friday again.

I am excited for today, even though I am exhausted from Vanessa being up all night last night! Sarah and I are going to Grammy and Poppa's (Tim's parents) today for the day. Bob, Leah, and the boys will be there. I will get a ton of help and the boys will keep Sarah occupied. Should be a fun day. I am bringing my camera, so hopefully there will be pictures. I am so bad at taking pictures these days.

We May Be Getting The Hang of Things

Looks like Vanessa has finally learned how to eat. She did great yesterday and last night. Got her to eat 2 oz at a time, which is perfect. Nicholas is doing great as well. He is hungry right on schedule, every 2 1/2 - 3 hrs. Both babies are good babies so far. Yesterday was our first day home alone, with no help. It was only for a few hours in the morning, but we were still alone. We did quite well. Of course both babies got fussy at the same time, but I handeled it. I just had to listen to one cry while the other got fed first. Today Tim's mom will come over after she gets off work to help me a little. I am hoping to get a nap in while she is here.

Sarah has school today, so Tim will take her before he goes to work. I think she would rather be at school than home with me, but I really don't blame her. It is boring just sitting around watching me feed and change diapers all day long!

The Twins are 10 Days Old!

I know, I have not been a very good poster lately. Pur lives have been turned upside down ever since the twins were born! So it has been 10 days sine they arrived. Let me ee if I can break it down as to what has been happening. Everything went great in the hospital. It was so great to have the nurses there to help me. After having a C-Section, it is really hard to move quickly! I had the best nurses! We came hom on Sunday, March 1st. My parents and Tim's parents came over to help us get settled. That was really nice! Lynn and Ronny did some gardening for us and my dad put together the cradle and my mom helped me wash some things. My mom and Lynn helped me in the baby's nursery to get organized and they changed our bed. Always nice to have clean sheets. They did all this while holding babies too.

The next few days, it was just the 5 of us at home. It went pretty good. Tim was able to be off for a few more days so he helped around the house while I cared for the babies. We took them to their first Dr. appt. on Wednesday. Everything looked good except for their weights. Their discharge weights were lower than the usual 10%, so that was not good. When we went to the Dr. Vanessa weighed 4 pounds 15 ounces and Nicholas weighed 6 pounds 1 ounce. Dr. was not happy about this. So we had to go back Friday. Yesterday my mom took us all to the Dr. to check their weight. Vanessa weighed 5 pounds 1/2 ounce and Nicholas weighed 6 pounds 3 ounces. So the each gained. They should be gaining about an ounce a day. We are having the hardest time feeding Vanessa. We have to undress her and feed her naked. Plus I use a washcloth to wake her up and the lights need to be on in the room. It is quite an ordeal. We have tried changing the bottles and nipples. Tried different flows of nipples, used a medicine dropper to feed her like a bird. It is so frustrating at night! Last night was awful. She didn't eat hardley anything except 1/2 ounce. She should be taking 2 ounces every two hours. We may be taking her back to the dr. today. She has to eat!

Sarah is doing quite well. She is a very good helper. She is being very patient too for a 4 year old. She sleeps through all the commotion at night too! She still goes to school Tuesday and Thursdays. Which is a life saver for both of us! It has got to be so hard for her having two new babies in the house.

I will try to be better at updating the website. I will even put pictures on it soon.

Weds Feb 25th. I went to work at Costco today, and Jill called
me at 4:50pm and said she thought maybe her water broke so she was going to the hospital.
I quickly dashed from work and meet her, my mom & dad, Jill's parents and Sarah. Jill's water did break and around 6:30 her ob Dr. Gorelick said get ready. So at 7:05pm
Vanessa Elizabeth arrived then Nicholas Charles Tanner. She weighed 5 lbs 10 oz , 19.5 inches long and he came in at 6 lbs 11 oz, and 19.75 inches long. Daddy and Noni were in the delivery room with Jill. I saw Dr. Gorelick earlier today at Costco maybe it was an omen that they were coming. Sarah was thrilled to see her siblings she only held Vanessa since Nicholas was still in nursery when she went to Grammy and Poppys for a sleep over. Jills brother Ted and Heather
visitied us at the hospital. Hopefully Mom and the twins are resting now I left Jill at 11:30pm
since I work tomorrow and needed to get home to pack stuff for Sarah and mommy. I will post some more pics tomorrow its 1:15am and I need some sleep I work at 6:30am at Longs.

Went to my weekly appt again this week. Still no babies!! Everything is going fine. My C-section is scheduled for March 5th at 10:30am. I could go before but I seriously doubt I will. I haven't been feeling very good today but the Dr. said to just take it easy. The longer they are in me the better off they will be with feeding. I tried to get him to take them sooner, but he didn't go for it.

My wonderful Sister-in-Law is coming down next Thursday to help me! I am so greateful! My mom and Tim are allowed in the OR with me (that should be interesting). I am planning on going home Sunday and then Tim will be off until Wednesday of that week just so I can get a little help with the babies. After that Sarah will go to school Wednesday and Thursday and then my mom is off on Friday-Monday to help me. And I am sure I will have some dirty toilets for her to clean!! :-)

Sarah is getting excited for the babies to come. I think she is a little un-sure about what is really going to happen. She asked me the other day if I will still be her mommy when the babies come. I said of course, I will always be your mommy. The things their little brains think of. I beleive she will spend the night at my IN-Laws the day the babies come. That way Tim can stay at the hospital late and try to get a good nights sleep that night. Since my SIL will be around, Sarah will love that!! Next week is going to be a busy one. But it can't come soon enough!!

34 weeks 6 days

Well I had to go to the Dr. today. I have had a headache off an on for the past two days. I figured it being a Friday, I should just call and ask him what I can do for it. Of course I had to come in to have my blood pressure checked. That was fine. He said to look for swelling overnight and seeing stars. If I get any of that to call right away and have my blood pressure checked again. I am at risk for getting pre-eclampsia, a condition in pregnant women that could endanger her if not treated. The only way to treat her is to deliver the baby. Hopefully I will not get that. He said I need to rest more. I was able to fall asleep for a bit when I got home.

We are wondering when these babies are going to come. Tim says February 20th. I say February 25th. My mom thnks any day now. Only time will tell. I see both Dr.'s Tuesday.

Valentine Party

The teachers at Sarah's school invited me to come to the Valentine Party today. When I got there they were handing out their cards. I was so impressed as to how well behaved these kids were. I have worked in a daycare type atmosphere and these kids were very well behaved. They waited for their turn to hand out their cards. After that they had an ice cream bar with all the essentials, ice cream, chocolate syrup, carmel syrup, sprinkles, whipped cream, cookies, brownies, and cupcakes. It was quite a spread at 10:00 in the morning! They all enjoyed the treat. After that it was play time. I had to leave after that to go to the Dr. I was the only parent that came and I am glad I did. Sarah was so happy when I got there.

Susan came over Saturday to help me make the cribs and put some stuff away. I so appreciated it. I would have not been able to lift up the matresses myself. I think the room is looking great! I have yet more clothes to wash and put away still. I also need to set up the changing table. Tim needs to move the tv (yes there is a tv in the nursery for when I am up at all hours feeding the babies!). We still need to get the swings out of the garage and the bouncy seats out and clean them. But I think we are pretty much ready.

I am nearing the end, finally! I went to the doc yesterday and everything looks good. He said I should stop working, so I have. Starting today I am on maternity leave. I am glad about that but hope the babies come soon so I don't spend all my time with no babies. This week I have Sarah in school all week. Next week she will be home with me. I am hoping she doesn't get too bored. We can't go gallavanting around town too much. But I was thinking of doing a few play dates with some friends and maybe going to the library to get some books or movies. We can also go to the park or she can ride her boke while I watch. SO there are things we can do. She loves to help me with the baby stuff so that is a lot of help.

The babies weigh over 10 pounds together. One is 5 pounds and one is 5.2. So they are good weights. If they get to 5 1/2 pounds that would be great! The doc said I could go at anytime. But I still have March 5th scheduled. So hopefully they come in the next 2-3 weeks. My blood pressure was okay, it is creeping up there though. I am feeling a lot of pressure but it is because Nicholas is head down waiting to make a mad getaway!

Well that is all for now. I think it may be time for a little nap before I go get Sarah from school. I will update more as I hear more.

Here I am today. I just don't see how much bigger I can get!!

Contractions

So today was not so fun. I started having contractions this morning, didn't think any thing of it. Then I realized they were pretty much every half hour. I thought well that is odd, so I started writing them down. They were coming anywhere between 15 min to an hour. Finally at about 2:00, I called my OB. Told him the situation and he ordered me to go home and rest. I told him at work I sit all day. He said he didn't care, I needed to rest. He called in a prescription for terbutline. Thiswill relax my uterus and hopefully stop the contractions. I am to take it if they become closer together. It is 6:30 and so far they have stopped. Haven't had one since 4:30ish. As long as I am not having any tomorrow, I will go to work. I have a Dr.'s appt in the afternoon so they will check me when they do the ultrasound. No need to worry, I am okay. He will not deliver the babies until I am 36 weeks unless my water breaks or the labor cannot be stop. If the babies were to come now they would be okay, but would have to stay in the hospital until their lungs develop and they have their sucking reflex. So we want them to wait until 36 weeks. That is the update for today.

Organizing!

With the twins coming soon, we had to get some sort of organization done in our tiny house. As you all know Tim is not handy. I am but not with stuff like this. So my dad and brother came over to help us out. It is great to have a family that knows how to use a hammer! So as you can see we look organized now. I don't have before pictures, but trust me we had a mess on our hands! This is our closte in our downstairs bathroom, the only closet we have downstairs. It is behind the door. I had a curtain up and it was just a regular closet to hang jackets, we kept the litter box in there and the vacuum, etc. We ended up getting MIRRORED closet doors and for half the closet they did all shelves. This side is kept closed and my dad put a cat hold in the middle wall so the cats can get to their litterbox and hopefully the messy litter stays in there instead of on the tile!

Okay, now this is where the mess was. To the right is a very nice window seat, that collected CRAP! basically everything that was on these shelves was just piled over there. Now it is a nice NEAT place where Sarah can keep her toys. The TV was in this corner and we just moved it to the center of this wall. It actually makes our living room look bigger. LOVE IT! The bottom shelf will be where I keep diapers and wipes handy for the twins.

30 Week Update

Well we have made it to the 30's! Everything is looking good. The Dr. will deliver me anywhere between 34 and 37 wks. So only 4-7 more weeks! I am starting to get very excited!

My Aunt Donna and her family were in town this weekend for Bunko. They had a little brunch on Sunday for Tim and I. We received a very nice double stroller from their whole family. So sweet of them! This stroller is so cool! There are so mnay different ways you can have the babies in it. I love options! We also got some cute clothes from Ted and Heather and my parents got us the carseat we wanted. We already had one, so now we are set and can leave the hospital! Tim is going to get the seats installed next week.

Other than that we are doing fine. I am still working but will probably stop working 2 weeks before the babies come. I can't wait! Until next week....

So Proud Preschool is Teaching my Child Something!

So today, Tim called to tell me Sarah had to tell me what she has learned in school. I was a little worried at first becuase you never know what she is going to bring home that she has learned from the other children! So Sarah gets on the phone and recites The Pledge of Allegiance! I could not believe it! I asked her if they say it everyday and she said yes. Whoever is the "Kitty" of the day (she is in the Kitty room) gets to lead the Pledge for the class. So cute! I don't think I knew the Pledge until I was in elementary school! The things kids learn today!

On another note, Sarah came home from school and has told us that she has a boyfriend! Yes a boyfriend! Do you beleive this!!?? His name is Andreas. I asked her why he was her boyfriend and she said because she fell off the slide the other day and he helped her. So cute!! But she is way too young to have a boyfriend!! I think I may have a Diva on my hands!

29 Week Update

Well another week is gone. And I am still pregnant. That is good though. Dr. J, the high risk OB said everything looks the same. Nicholas weighs 3 pounds 7 punces and Vanessa weighs 3 pounds 1 ounce. I was worried about the difference, but the dr. says it is normal. From what I have been reading I will go through a growth spurt the next few weeks. We need them to be at least 5 pounds. My twins buddy, who I met through a support group, is 3 weeks ahead of me, her twin boys are about 4 pounds each. Such a difference a few weeks make. My cervix is shortening which is good and I am not dialated yet. I go back in 2 weeks. I see Dr. G on Monday. I am still working, although it is getting harder everyday. By the afternoons I am so tired. We actually got home early today from the dr. and I was able to take a quick 20 min nap and I don't feel as tired. I may have to do that at work on a break. We do have a small couch in an office.

Sarah is doing well as usual. She has staerted going to school full time and loves it. So does her teacher Ms. Jennifer. When I do go out on maternity leave and I do not need to be on bedrest, we will take her out of school. The expense is something we do not need to spend and I think she will enjoy being home with me and the new babies when they come. She is such a good helper already. She has told us numerous times that she will not change stinky diapers, daddy will do that. I wonder if daddy knows this? Fine by me! Well that is all for now. I will update more next week, maybe with more pictures!

Wouldn't you like to know what they are???? Oh okay, we will tell you. Now, these names are NOT set in stone. So be ware, we may change them.

Baby Girl can now be referred to as Vanessa Elizabeth. Vanessa was a name my mom said she always liked. And when she told me I thought, hhhmm that sounds like a good traditional name, but I wasn't so sure. It definatly has grown on both of us. Elizabeth is Tim's Grandma Betty's real name. And I used it as my confirmation name. I have always loved that name. And it just flows with Vanessa.

Baby Boy can now be called Nicholas Charles. Nicholas was a name we were going to name Sarah if she was a boy. Both of us immediatly loved that name. Charles is Tim's Grandpa Charlie's name. We wanted the babies to have meaningful middle names like Sarah does.

It was definatly very hard to come up with 4 names! Sarah was so easy to name! I would have loved the same first inital but it dodn't turn out that way. Vincent was another one of our choices, but neither one of us really LOVED the name, like we did with Nicholas.

The twins have been referred to as Ike and Tina, thanks to my very creative brother, this whole pregnancy. But since we are not African American we thought those were not the names to stick. You should hear some of the other names that were suggested to us. Out favorites were Princess and King, courtesy of Sarah.

So there you have it: Nicholas and Vanessa.

28 Week Update

Well we have almost made it through another week. Everything is going good. The Dr. would like to write me out of work soon. But I would like to work until the end of January. We will see what the babies decide to do. I have been having a few contractions, but nothing painful or consitant.

Sarah is doing good too. She had a fabulous Christmas and talks about seeing Santa alot. She came home the other night and told me that she has a new boyfriend at school. His name is Andreas. God, she is turning into me!! Not good! I have not met this new "friend" yet.

I just realized I have under 100 days before these babies come, 98 to be exact! So far so good. I go to the Dr. on Monday. I haven't been feeling them too much and when I do the movements are very low. Ihope that is an okay sign. We will find out Monday. Oh and I passes my 3 hour gestational diabetes test. Whew! That's all I would need is to be on a diet!

We are taking Sarah to see Santa tonight. She and my dad made a list of what she wants from the Target and Toys R Us ads. Almost everything on it is Princess related! She will bring it to Santa tonight. I told her after we see Santa we have to stop in at TRU to get another present for Hunter. She says oh good, that's where the princess kitchen is and then you can buy it for me! I said no, that is not how it works. You need to be a good girl and MAYBE Santa will bring that to you. But good try. She is very inquisitive about Santa. This morning she asked if Santa had a potty. Weird question but okay. I said yes he does. He lives in a house just like eeryone else but it is in the North Pole which is very far away and very cold. That seemed to satisfy the curiosity for now. So many questions, so little answers!

For those of you who have not heard about Pixie she is an elf that came to visit Sarah last year for Christmas. 12 days before Christmas she arrives and "plays" at night and is a statue during the day. Last night was the first night. Sarah woke up this morning to the kitchen being TP'd by Pixie. She left a note saying she is so excited to visit her again this year. I wonder what she will do tonight!

Only 108 Days To GO!!

Oh my goodness, that seems like such a long time! Me and my passengers are doing fine. I had and appt with Dr. J (high risk) on Monday. Everything looks good. Baby boy weighs 1 pound 1o oz. Baby girl weighs 1 pound 13 oz. He is a little concerned about the weight of Baby boy. He says I need to rest more. Not sure how much more resting I can do! I sit all day at work and after I make dinner I sit at home. Of course I asked if I can still work and he said yes. So I will do my best.

Tim cleaned out our old office. We found place for all the crap, whether it was in the trash, donated or put in the garage, we did find a place. My house seems so unorganized right now. But it will get better. My dad started painting last weekend. He was able to patch the holes, put the primer on, and paint the chair rail. He will come back Sunday to paint the rest. We decided to do a light tan color on top and white on the bottom. Out bedding will match great! I bought 2 sets of the same pattern, just pink for the girl and blue for the boy. I will show pictures once we get all set up. It seems like we have most of the stuff we need. We do need to buy a carseat (we picked on out a BRU, it is pink!) and we need a highchair, but not right now. After Christmas I will get everything out and start washing. A lot of stuff is hand-me-downs so I want to disinfect everything.

Our Thanksgiving was good. My Aunt Donna (aka: Nanny) came to visit and cook for us. She is so great! We had dinner at my grandparents house.

Sarah is doing great in school. She has a Christmas Program coming up in a few weeks. She is practicing all her songs. So cute! I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I will update more in a few weeks!

Why I haven't Posted-Your Questions Answered

Most of you don't know, but 2 weeks ago I went to the high risk OB for my regular check. The Dr. thought he saw something on the ultrasound that could be a mild case of Spina Bifoda. He suggested I get an amnio. So immediatly I agreed. Well I didn't know they do it right then and there! But it was not bad. An amnio is where they stick a long needle in your belly through the sac to pull the amniotic fluid out. Since I am having twins, I got to do this twice! That fluid tells you everything! They take two big viles out of this fluid. It was not painful. I had a little cramping when they were doing it. Oh yeah I got to watch them do it to, there is no curtain. Luckily I am not afraid of needles. Then came time to wait......It takes 10-14 days to get the results. The Dr. said depending on the severity would depend on what they would do. My OB said that they would not deliver them early because once you deliver one you have to deliver the other one. So that was out of the question.

Wednesday I got the call! All the results came back OKAY!! They tested for any chromosomal defects, such as Downs, and that was normal. The Spina Bifoda test came back normal as well. We are both so relieved! One question I want to ask the Dr. is if they can tell whether either of these babies will have the birth defect that Sarah has. I am not sure if that can be tested or you just wait until the babies are born. Her Dr. said he has never seen a sibbling with the same problem. But there is a 3% chance.

So that is the reason why I did not post anything. I wanted to be sure before I posted it. All is good. I am feeling a little funky today but I am sure it is just the day. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

22 wk update

Okay so I am not very good at this updating thing. So here it goes. Me and my "passengers" as the receptionist at the Dr.'s office calls them, went to see the OB yesterday. He actually did a few things! I was measured. His comment was "it is definatly expanding!' Yeah I know, thank you. He listened to the heatbeats. We got to hear them but Dr. G was not sure if it was only one he was hearing or both. Sometimes they beat together. I told him I was always short of breath. His response was, "yeah, that happens, just relax." Okay but how do I sleep at night?! My blood pressure was good. I am going on Saturday to do the Gestational Diabetes test. That is where I have to drink this sugary orange drink (does not taste like orange soda!) and then wait an hour and they test my blood. With Sarah I failed that test and had to go back in for the 3 hour test. That is where I drink the crap and then every hour for three hours they test my blood to make sure my levels do go down. If they don't then I am labeled as being a gestational diabetic. The only thing I can do from there is to eat really good, maybe do insulin, depending on how severe. The only cure is to deliver the babies. If I have this I could also end up delivering big babies. So I would really need to watch it. I go back in 4 weeks. I see the high risk OB December 1st. I dread going to him becuase they take forever to scan the babies and measure them. I always have to have them stop in the middle because I can't breath. So frustrating!

Sarah is doing well. She is at preschool this whole week becuase daycare is closed. She is loving being at school everyday. I am thinking of taking her out of daycare and just keeping her in school since she loves it so much. I was talking to the teacher yesterday and she was telling me that the boys just love her! She tells them what to do and they just do it! So cute. She calls them "her boys." I think we are going to have to watch out for this little girl! The letter of the week is I. For share she wanted to bring ice cream! Smart, but no I wouldn't let her.

Next week is Thanksgiving. Tim and Sarah will put up our new fake tree while I make a side for dinner. Then we will go to my Grandmother and Grandfather Thiele's house in NP for dinner. My Aunt Donna is coming down to cook. This gives my mother a break. So I am excited to see Aunt Donna and Uncle Randy (if he can come). It will be a nice day. Then I am off Friday, first time in 10 years I have been off! I think Sarah and I will just hang out. I am not up to shopping with all the crazies on Black Friday. Either Saturday or Sunday my dad will come over and paint the nursery for us since Tim has to work and I can't get on a ladder. I ordered the bedding so as soon as that comes in I have to match paint. It is getting exciting! Between now and then I have to get Tim to help me clean out the room. The question is, where to put all the crap!!?? I have a feeling we will be donating a lot of it. :-( There is no room at the inn anymore.

Sarah's Results

I took Sarah to CHLA yesterday for her results on her dye test. She is doing okay. We are switching her regimin at night to oral medications. The Dr. thinks this work just the same, but be easier on all of us. It is getting very difficult to have to do all that in the evneings by myself since Tim works every night. I am sure in the beginning we are going to have some accidents but we will try to get through it.

I am feeling good, as good as I can be carrying twins. I am 20 weeks 4 days pregnant and getting really big! I am short of breath all the time and just plain uncomfortable. We see the Dr. next week so we will see what he has to say about these babies.

We will be starting on the nursery at the end of the month. I still have no idea what I am doing with it, but I will decide by then, I have to! Once that is done, then it will be Christmas and then I will be almost ready to have these little ones. I have been very lucky to have friends who have friends who have given me a bunch of baby stuff. We have almost all the big stuff, including 2 cribs! I do need to buy a carseat soon, before I go on bedrest, so we are ready!

This week we have been staying at my parents house because we had to get both the tub and the shower re-fabbed. The upstairs shower got a crack in it and replacing it was just way too expensive. So we ended up getting this new thing done and from what I have seen, it is going to look brand new. We go home tonight so I will get to see it. It has been nice staying at my parents. I have someone to talk to at night which is pleasant.

Sorry I haven't updated with pictures. I am having issues uploading. I will try again today and see what happens.

Anyway, the twins and I went to the high risk OB yesterday. Everything looks good. We are definatly having a boy and a girl. Baby A (boy) is 9 oz and on my right side low. Baby B (girl) is 8 oz and on my left side and is higher. They label the babies A and B, because A is closer to the cervix, but with me having a C-section they take out whatever baby is in the way. I go back to him in 3 weeks. He referred me to a cardiologist because they cannot get good measurements on the girl, so just to be sure I will see her in 3 weeks. I see my regular OB in about 4 weeks. I have been having terrible headaches the last 4 days, so I went to see my OB yesterday since I was there. I thought I had high blood pressure, but that was fine. He said he could give me Vicodan, but I am not too sure I want to take that. You can take an addicting drug but not an over the counter drug. I just don't get it! So we are pretty much half way there. I am anxious to meet the little ones! I am also anxious to be done with this whole thing.

We are hopefully going to start working on the nursery soon. I still have no idea what I want to do with it. I thought I wanted monkeys but now I am thinking I want two different things. So as you can see I am very undecided. We have been going through names as well. We have a few names picked, but with me being so undecided who knows what these kids will be named!

Sarah is doing just fine. We had a great trip to Disneyland over the weekend, which I will update everyone on once I can upload pictures! She is loving school. She has been having some feet problems. She walks pigeon toed, so we took her to the podiatrist and she got some heel lifts in her shoes and they seem to be getting better. Today she received her orthotics which she wears with the heel lifts, so hopefully this will correct the problem. We go back in 6 months. She has a little procedure she has to do next Wednesday at CHLA. Just a test. So I will update that as soon as we know what the deal is.

Well we went to the Dr. today. Looks like we are having a girl for sure (Baby A). Baby B looks like a boy. The tech got a glimps of his private's, but then he crossed his legs so they aren't 100% sure. We go back in 2 weeks. Everything else looks good.

Preschool Went Well!

So today was Sarah's first day of preschool. We are taking her to Princeton Preschool right by our house. I dropped her off this morning around 7:45. Suprisingly there were not a lot of kids there yet. Anyway, we found out who her teacher was. Her name is Ms. Julie. She showed us Sarah's classroom and where her cubby would be. Then I said goodbye and of course started crying so I had to leave. They said I could call anytime to check up on her. So of course I called around 10:30 and they said she was doing just fine. I picked her up around 5:15 and right away they knew who I was. I guess there was a dentist that came in to talk to the kids about brushing and flossing. And the cool thing was that it was the dentist office Sarah goes to! Of course Sarah had no idea, but that is cool. All the kids got a bag full of information. Next week I think an eye Doctor is coming to visit. I can't remember when they said they were coming. The teachers said she did very well for her first day. She got along with the kids and listened well. So I think she will do just fine. Of course the first few days will be hard on me, but I promised Sarah I wasn't going to cry again!

Tomorrow I am home with her. Daycare is closed so I took the day off. I am taking her to the podiatrist in the morning for her flat feet. Then we go to the OB's in the afternoon. A day of doctors!

4 years!

We took Sarah to the Dr. today. She had a good appoitment and is as healthy as can be. She now weighs 34 pounds (45th percentile). She went up on her weight. She had been in the 4th percentile since she was a few months old so this is good. She is 38 1/2 inches tall (25th percentile). She is a little pigeon-toed so the Dr wants me to take her to a podiatrist, she may need orthotics to fix them, so we will see. She got 3 shots (flu, chicken pox, and measles). She only cried after the third and it was more of a "give me attention" cry. Once she got her lollipop and stickers she was good to go. She got 3 band-aids which she was very happy about.

On a funny note- I was filling in the developmental questionaire and there were a few good questions on there that she knew right away how to do it. Some things she had to do was draw a circle, name the colors, hop on one foot, etc. Well one question was "What do you do with a cup?" Her response: Pee in it. This is after I had brought her in the bathroom to pee in the cup for a sample (which she didn;t do). Another questions, "What do you do with a chair?" Her response: Stand on it! I obviously had to answer no on if she got those right. We are so proud!

We also talked about the twins coming. He will be their pediatrician as well so the hospital will leet them know when I deliver. All the nurses are so excited for us! I am sure the Dr is too because he gets two more patients! Julie, our favorite nurse, said the first thing we are going to do is check out their butts! Damn right! :-)

I have made it through my first trimester, FINALLY! I am starting to feel better. I have more energy and I am able to stay up past 8 at night! I had to go to the Dr. last Thursday for cramping, but me and the babies are just fine. It is probably ligament pain I am feeling, but they did an u/s just to be sure. I need to stay off my feet as much as possible, but I can still work for now. Both babies were moving like crazy and i could not feel a thing! We will find out the sexes on October 7th, so check back to see what the results are.

Last Friday I felt the baby(ies) move for the first time. The Dr. had said I may feel them a little earlier than most because there is twice as much in there. It was just a little flutter, but definatly not gas! It was right below my stomach and if I paid attention the baby(ies) would stop moving. I have felt a little here and there but definatly not distinctive enough to tell which one it is or if it was both.

Sarah is doing well. She has been a little sick with a stomach virus of some sort. Just not herself, but on the mend. She goes to see her pediatrician on October 3rd for her 4 year check. We are a little late this year because her Dr. all of a sudden got extremly busy! (Doesn't he know who we are?!) She will have her check-up and shot(s) by the time she starts preschool on the 6th. I also get to tell her Dr. that he will have two more patients! I cannot wait to see the look on his face!

We went to see our two OB's yesterday. First we went to see the high risk OB, Dr. Jadali. He is very nice. His staff is super nice. They did an internal u/s first. She measured everything, head, arms, legs, etc. She is not 100% sure that the twins are fraternal. There is a membrane that sperates them and I guess by looking at that you can tell what they are. But we won't be sure until we find out the sexes and then if they are the same sex they will test their blood. Identical twins do have the same blood type. It was too early to see what sex they are, but both heartrates were 174. When I was pregnant with Sarah I read that the higher the heartrate the chances are it is a girl. But you never know until the babies come out. But my guess is 2 girls. Then she did the ultrasound on my belly and took more measurments. Then Dr. J came in and did a 3D ultrasound, which was so cool! You can see both babies in the picture. He said everything looked great and we will see him in a month.

Then we went across the hall to see Dr. G, my OB. He asked me what have I done and then laughed. We did get an ultrasound there too. Not nearly as cool as Dr. Jadali's machine though! Dr. G. says everything looks fine for now. He is sending me to get some blood tests done. He will not measure my belly this time. Last time he measured my belly and what ever the number was, that was supoosed to coincide with your weeks, well it never did of course. Anyway, he can't do that measurment because there are two babies and he would not get an accurate number. So I will get much more ultrasounds than normal and I will see him more often. I go back in a month and I think when I am 20 weeks, i will start seeing him every other week. He says I could very well go to 38 weeks, yeah I don't think so! He said to take it easy and eat well. I will give it a shot! We go back October 7th (our anniversary!).

Tim Gets a Promotion!

Not sure if everyone knows, but Tim has been working two jobs for about 4 months now. He has always wanted to work at Costco, but they only hire part time, pushing carts. Well who can afford to work part time and raise a family? Well, not us! Anyway, he decided to just try it with two jobs and see what happens. Well he has worked there for his 90 day probation and after that you can apply for other job openings. So he applied for a full-time cashier. God knows he has enough experience! Well he got it! He starts in 2 weeks, hopefully after training. We are so proud of him! He will work at Costco full time now. Not sure what is going on with Longs but he will have to have a second job to supplement his income for now.

We have our OB appt tomorrow. I am excited, yet nervous at the same time. I am sure all will go well. We will keep you posted.

My brother and his fiance, Heather, get the keys to their new house in a week! They have had a long escrow and it is finally coming to an end! yeah! Can't wait to see what the inside of thehouse looks like!

We Graduated!

Today was me and the babies last appoitment with Dr. B. I am sad because I LOVE HIM! But like he said, we can always come back a fourth kid. Dr. B I think you want me to go insane! Anyway, everything looks ggod. I am 11wks5d pregnant, so just about 12 weeks. He took me off all the hormones. I am VERY happy about that. He said I should start feeling like myself in a few days. I cannot wait! The babies are measuring good and he saw both hearts beating, so that is always a good sign. They took my blood one last time and I was off.

Tuesday I go to see my regualr OB, Dr. Gorelick and my high risk OB Dr. Jadali. I am excited but at the same time nervous. Hopefully both will be good appoitments.

Everything else is going good at home. We had a very uneventful Labor Day weekend. We literaly did nothing. But it was very nice to have no plans.

Well look at me, updating the blog again! Everything is going really well. I thought I had been feeling better this past weekend. Saturday I felt like I was feeling better. I only took one nauseas pill everyday until today! Today started out good but then I started not feeling so hot. I am eating now so I am thinking that will help subside whatever it is I am feeling. Other than that I feel fine. My next appoitment is on Wednesday. Hopefully that will be my last one with Dr. B, then I graduate to my regualr OB. They also said he will wean me off my precriptions, which I think will help me so much! I cannot wait because my lower back hurts and itches like you would not believe (that is where my intramuscular injections are given every morning. UGH!

Sarah is doing fabulous! There was no daycare this week and she says she misses Bina so much! She even had to give her a bunch of hugs before she left last week. That made Bina's day of course. Since we were on a little break this week, Sarah and I went and looked at two preschools. Kindercare, which I did not care for and Princeton Preschool which we both really liked. So Princeton it is! I am thinking she will start in October. I can't beleive my baby is going to go to school! :-(

We also went to CHLA on Tuesday for Sarah's follow-up with Dr. Shaul. After waiting almost 2 hours we got some good news. Sarah is being weined off her evening medication! Yeah! She is happy about that and so am I! She will have a dye test done, hopefully within the month and then a follow-up in 3 months. The dye test is where they will put this colored dye in her rectum, like her enemas, and take a picture with it in there so they can see that everything is flowing properly. Then she will try to go potty and then they will take more pictures of hopefully an empty colon. I am sure she will hate it because I am not doing it, but we will see how all that goes.

We had an appoitment today. Everything is going great! I get to graduate from Dr. B after the next appoitment in 2 weeks. We saw 2 strong heartbeats. Both babies have grown a lot since the last time. They both have heads and bodies and tiny little buds for arms and legs. "Sac 1" (as he calls it) was moving around quite a bit. Of course I cannot feel it yet. Maybe in about 7 weeks I will be able to. "Sac 2" was just lying there, probably sleeping. I hope that isn't an indication that one baby will be awake while th other is sleeping! How is mommy supposed to sleep!? He refilled my "anti-nausea" medicine again. I think it curves the nausea, but does not take it away! I will get to see my regualr OB, Dr. G, in 3 weeks and Dr. B also wants me to see a high risk O/B.

Sarah is doing good and is excited for the babies to come. But she doesn't ask when they are coming. So that is a releif. She likes to keep the ultrasound pictures next to her bed so she can look at them before going to sleep. It is so cute! We are going to look at preschools next week for Sarah. I am off for a few days so I thought that would be a perfect time to take a look at what is out there. I think it is time for her to go to school. She is pretty advanced though with her letters and numbers. She knows all the sounds of her letters, she can write her name, and she can count backwards from 10. So I think she is on the right track.

I can't beleive it! It feels like I just had her yesterday. Tim and I got her a Barbie bike. It is so cute and she looks great on it. She needs to peddle harder so she can actually go, but she is not afraid to get on it, at least until she falls.

We had a small birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese on Friday. She had so much fun. I hadn't been to CEC in forever and it was actually pretty nice. It was clean and not real crowded. It seemed like the kids had a blast.

Saturday we went to Tim's parents house to visit more with Bob and Leah and the boys. Sarah just loves playing with them. I wish we lived closer so we could see them a little more.

I am 8 weeks pregnant today. Yes I am still not feeling really well. I have been taking my medication every day, twice a day. I tried only taking it once a day and that didn't work. Yesterday I was miserable after work. Sarah is so good though. I can lay in bed and she will play in her room with her babies or read a bunch of books. I go to the Dr. again on Monday. Maybe he will have a miracle drug that will make me feel better. That would be so nice.

It's Official!

Well, as many of you already know (because I have a big mouth), Tim, Sarah and I are having twins. Well, really I am the one having the babies, but they are certainly a BIG part of this addition. We are excited, shocked, and worried all at the same time. I am only 7 weeks 1 day so it is still VERY early to be celebrating. But the Dr. doesn't see me for two weeks so that is always good.

I am VERY sick, in my eyes. I am not vomitting but I am nauseas/hungry/moody. Poor Tim! Nothing sounds good to eat at all. Although today I had a Weight Watchers mac & cheese frozen dinner for lunch and it was VERY good. So I may be eating that everyday for the next 5 weeks if I have to. I mean I am barely eating anything! And as you all know I LOVE TO EAT!!! I did have a Deit Coke with no caffeine today and it tasted okay.

Tim is such a good husband these days. He has been doing the laundry, the dishes and he helped put in a new wood floor in the family room with his dad on Monday. So not only is he working two jobs but he is also being Mr. Mom at home. I just have no energy to do anything.

Sarah is being very good as well. She lays with me in bed at night and takes care of me. She is going to be such a good big sister to the babies when they come. Although she beg daddy the other day not to change stinky diapers when the babies come. It was very cute. I told her she didn't have to, just feed them and burp them and we will be good. :-)

Sarah's 4th birthday is in 2 days! And is she excited?? OMG! We are having a little family party at Chuck E. Cheese's on Friday. She has never been so it should be interesting. We got her her first bicyle with training wheels. It is pink with streamers! I can't wait to see her ride it! Thursday she has her party at Bina's. I made chocolate cupcakes for that. So it should be a good birthday for her.

Since my last post a lot has happened. I am 7 wks 1 day along. And the nausea had hit! It is so bad that the Dr. prescribed me something to curve it. It seems to be bad in the morning and then around 8 at night. So I go to bed at that time. I am eating little meals and eating them slowly. Luckily there is no vomitting but it is still not something I want to have. I am trying to enjoy this pregnancy, since it may be my last, and it is very hard to do that.

I went to the Dr. last week on July 24th and the Dr. saw two sacs! One was bigger than the other and that one was the one with the heartbeat. The other one was right next to it and could still be viable. The Dr. will check me again on Monday. I will post more when i know what is going on.

other than that we are all good. Sarah is taking good care of her mommy when we are home. I have been going to bed at the same time she does so if Tim is coming home late we sleep in our bed and then Tim moves her. She is very good at going to sleep so i don't worry about it. Once the baby comes she won't be able to do that too much, but we will make time to have cuddle time with her.

Well everything is going good so far. I am only 4 weeks along so really how much could happen? I actually don't feel pregnant. But there really are no signs at this stage. I am tired, but I don't think any more than normal. I had heartburn yesterday but could have been what I ate. So who knows. I got my second BETA test, which is the HcG test that measures the pregnancy hormone. My number went from 73 to 324! So that is excellent. I will have my first ultrasound on Friday. We will hopefully be able to see a sac (or two). The Dr. will make sure it is growing like it should. Hopefully in a week or two after that we can see the heartbeat! I cannot wait for that! I will post a picture of the u/s this weekend.

I Am Pregnant!

Today we found out that I am pregnant! Here is a picture that Dr. B gave us the day of the transfer. The embryo on the top right s the bad one. That was discarded. The one in the middle is the really good one. It is hatching and ready to latch on to something. Underneath that is the shell from the embryo. Yes we all hatch from an egg. Dr. B uses "Assisted Hatching" when using FET (frozen embryo transfer). What that means is they poke a hole in the embryo to help the process along. The embryo on the left side is an okay embryo. It is just a bit slower at "hatching."

The nurse called me at about 2:30 to tell me the good news. My number was 73 and it needs to be above 20. So that is excellent! I go back on Monday for second test to make sure my numbers are doubling. The number has no indication if I will have multiples or not. According to the computer I would be due March 18th.

I told Sarah I have a baby in my tummy. She is very excited. She already has two names picked out, Pinkey and Fireman. Nice names, huh? Well that is all the news for now. I will write more on Monday.

Today was the Day.....

We went in to the office at 2. We sat and talked for a bit about the embryos. Dr. B defrosted 3 embryos. One was really good and ready to grab onto something. One was just okay. Not bad though. One was no good at all. It was almost dead. We went back into the room and I got into position. He used a speculum just like you would getting your annual exam. Then he put in a cathetar (a long tube), then he cleaned my uterus with some stuff. Then he called for the embryos. They come right from the lab to my uterus. So when the embryologist brings them in she, the nurse, the dr. and Tim all watched. I just layed there and waited. Then the embryologist takes the tube the embryos were in and checks them to make sure they got all them in. Then we just wait for 15 minutes. After that I went into the car and layed back to go home. And since then I have been laying on the couch. I am a little bored but okay. I did get up to eat diiner. But now I have cramps, I think because the Aleeve is wearing off. I can take two more in a few hours. I go back on July 11th at 8 am and I will know something that afternoon. So the wait begins.......

I cannot beleive we are almost there! We have been at this since May 27th and it is now July 2nd. My appoitment is tomorrow at 2pm. I am anxious and nervous. I actually don't know what to feel at this point. I don't want to jinx anything. I will be off my feet on bedrest for four days. Hopefully they will go by fast. My goal is to get my blog up and running by the end of the weekend. More to come.......

I had been having leg cramps for 2 days. The cramps were really bad, bringing tears to my eyes. I called Dr. B to see what could be causing them. I guess Estrogen could cause blood clots. It is very rare but it does happen. I was having them in both legs. The nurse at Dr. B's said I needed to call my primary care Dr or go to the ER so I could get a doppler done on my legs. My Dr. got me in and checked my legs. They were swollen but he didn't see anythng that would be a blood clot. He did send me to the hospital so I could get the doppler done on my legs. The tech was super nice and the doppler felt really good on my legs. Turns out there was no blood clot (thank God!) If there was I would not be able to take the medicine they put the put you on. I would probablyhave to be on bed rest. The nurse at Dr. B's said to eat banana's and drink Gatorade or anything with elecetrolytes and the pain should go away. Friday night they were still hurting and Saturday they were better but still hurting a little. This morning they feel better. Iam trying to keep them up as much as I can to help with the swelling. The heat is not helping either. It is over a 100 here and we didnt think our AC was working but last night I was dying and Tim thought he would try the air again. And it is working!!! You have no idea how happy that made me feel! Now I can do things without breaking out in a sweat! Well that is all the news for now.

Why am I hot all the time??!!

I am guessing it is from the medication I am on. But come on, so I have to be hot all the time!!?? It was really noticeable on Saturday. I was sitting in church fanning myself like I was going through menopause. It did not get any better as the day went on. Today I found a fan at work to keep on my desk and just have it blow on me. It is also about 95 degrees in the valley now and it is just going to go up as the summer comes upon us.

I am feeling better other than that. My next appt. is next Wednesday. I am starting to get VERY excited. I am starting to plan what I will do while I am on bedrest. I think I will get some Friends DVD's and a few movies. Tim will have to work on Saturday and Sunday but he will be home Thursday for the transfer and Friday because of the holiday. My parents will help with Sarah which will be nice.

I am sick....

Yes you read that right. Tim came home the other night with a little cold. I woke up Thursday with a cold! And people wonder why I don't share! So I only worked a half day yesterday and today I am at work but feeling a little better. It is just a head cold but I can't take anything because of the medications I am on right now to get ready for the transfer.

This morning was my first injection. I can't remember what it is called but I take it on Tuesdays and Fridays. Today Tim injected my lower back with .25cc's of this oily medication. It didn't hurt. But about 3 hours later my back, where he injected me, was burning. It was like I had a rash there. But there is nothing there and it looks just fine. So we will continue on.

This weekend is a busy one (fine time for me to get sick!). Tomorrow is my cousin Ryans wedding. It is in Lompoc at 3pm. We also have Sarah's first swim lesson for the season in Newbury Park. Should be interesting to see if she learns anything this time. Sunday is Father's Day. We will go to the Tanners in the AM and then to my parents for dinner. Poor Tim has to work in the afternoon, but at least he gets to see his dad. Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there!

My First Entry

As you all know we have a website for Sarah that I have been trying to update regularly. Well, I decided we needed to either us a different webpage or do something different. This is where the blog comes in. I wanted something where I could document our fertility journey this time. As we started to go through the process, I realized I didn't write anything down the last time and of course I don't remember much about it since it was 4 years ago. So this is where we are now. I am hoping to share my experience with all my family and friends ans maybe be able to help someone who is going through the same things we are going through to have a baby.

At the end of May Tim, Sarah and I went to see Dr. Boostanfar (who we will call Dr. B because his name is too long to type everytime.). I thought it was important to bring Sarah with us so she can meet the Dr that is going to help us have a baby. And I thought he would want to see her too since it had been almost 4 years since he saw her. We talked a little bit and since I was on Day 4 of my cycle he said I could start on birth control pills (BCP). He did a simple ultrasound (u/s) to check my ovaries. Making sure there were no cysts or fibroids on them. And they looked good according to him. So that night I started the BCP. I took my last pill on Sunday, June 8th.

June 11th was our second appoitment with Dr. B. He again did an u/s and agian they looked good. He ran a blood test to check my progesterone levels and my estrogen levels. All came back good. He said to start the Folgart the next day along with some baby asprin. Folgart gives me the necessary vitamins and the baby asprin will help with ny circulation.

Tomorow, June 13th, I will start my first injection. I forget what it is called. Tim will administer it in the morning. I will get that on Tuesdays and Fridays. I will also continue with the Folgart and baby asprin everyday.

Anyway, that is it for now. I am hoping this blog will be fun for everyone to read. I will not be sending out emails to remind people to check it out. Check it out as often as you would like. I am still trying to figure everything out. I will post pictures once I figure out how to do it. I will update soon.
